Which Sheepskin Rug Is Right for You?

Our range spans several distinct types of sheepskin, each with its own character and look.

Classic sheepskin rugs are the most popular starting point — soft, supple wool in natural and dyed shades, from single pelts to large multi-skin pieces. If you're undecided, start here.

Icelandic sheepskin rugs have a long, silky fleece with natural movement - unmistakably Nordic, striking in both contemporary and traditional interiors. Available in shorn and unshorn finishes.

British rare breed sheepskin rugs are for those who want something genuinely individual. Sourced from homegrown British breeds, every hide carries its own natural markings - earthy browns, natural creams and taupes that can't be replicated.

Curly sheepskin rugs - Gotland, Mongolian lambskin and Tibetan styles - offer the most tactile texture in the range. Tightly curled, shaggy fleece in a wide palette from ivory to jet black.

Sheepskin Rug Sizes Explained

Sheepskin rugs are sized by how many natural hides are stitched together.

A single is one pelt - roughly 90–110 cm × 60–65 cm, the classic beside-the-bed or armchair size. A double is two pelts stitched lengthways, typically 170–200 cm × 60–65 cm, and works well as a runner or in front of a sofa. A quad (four pelts) sits at around 140–160 cm × 120 cm - a proper room rug for living spaces and hallways. Sexto (six) and octo (eight) step up from there, and we stock sheepskin rugs up to twelve or more skins for serious statement pieces.

Because every hide is natural, dimensions vary slightly between individual rugs - exact measurements are listed on each product page.

Our sheepskins are a by-product of the meat industry, sourced from certified farms where animals are raised with space to graze and live naturally. The hide that would otherwise be discarded becomes a sheepskin rug, carpet or throw that lasts for years with proper care.

Caring for Your Sheepskin Rug

Easier than most people expect. Shake regularly to keep the fleece full, and brush occasionally with a sheepskin brush to maintain the texture. Most of our rugs can be hand washed or gently machine washed on a cold cycle. Full care instructions for every type are in our sheepskin rug care guide.
