Medical Relugan Sheepskin Rug
These quality, sheepskin rugs are different to other standard sheepskins in that they are tanned using chrome-free Relugan® GT-50, commonly called “relugans” – a nick name for medical hides. This gives the fleece a unique yellowy golden colour. They are water tolerant and therefore easy to wash, making them perfect for medical uses. Physiotherapists recommend them for people suffering from rheumatological problems such as joint pains, muscle pains, arthritis and poor blood circulation. These sheepskins are an excellent natural material for preventing bedsores for people who lay for a long time. They are also frequently used for wheelchairs, bedding, as foot mats, over car seats and furniture, and of course for little babies and children (as a play-mat or pram liner for extra snuggles!)
These lambskins are breathable and have excellent air circulation as well as incredible thermo properties – warm in the winter, cool in the summer, preventing excess sweating.
Relugan sheepskins have a very distinctive feel than other sheepskin rugs. They are short and beautifully butter soft, creating a therapeutic feel; perfect for the most sensitive and fragile skin.
